At Central Heart, our mission has always been to provide our Central Coast community with leading cardiovascular care that feels personal and professional, with a premium patient experience. Now, in 2026, we’re thrilled to announce a significant milestone in that mission: the move from North Gosford to a new, purpose-built practice in the heart of Gosford at Suite 1/16-18 Hills Street.
Having opened its doors on Monday, 9 February, the new facility represents a long-term investment in the health of our local community and a commitment to setting a new benchmark for high-quality care in our region.
Designed with your experience in mind
We understand that visiting a cardiologist can sometimes be a stressful experience, which is why every element of the new fit-out has been designed to promote a sense of calm and privacy.
When planning the 155-square-meter ground-floor space, Associate Professor Tom Ford (A/Prof Ford) and the team prioritised function over form, focusing on how the layout could directly improve the patient experience.
One of the most significant changes is our new waiting area. By separating the patient seating from the reception desk, we’ve ensured that your discussions with our secretarial team are more private. To further enhance the new space, we have installed a music system throughout the practice and its rooms. The consultation rooms feature acoustically engineered panelling and flooring designed to support clear communication. This aligns with extensive research showing that environmental factors, such as curated soundscapes, play a critical role in supporting both patient and staff wellbeing by promoting a sense of calm.

More parking and better access
We listen to our patients, and we know that the little things, such as finding a park in Gosford, can make a big difference to your day. Our new central location features a large private car park with plenty of spaces. This provides a level access drop-off point at our ground-floor rooms, removing the stress of stairs or searching for street parking before an appointment.
Leading technology, locally accessible
As part of our commitment to high-quality care, we ensure our specialists have the best tools for thorough clinical assessments. Our new Hills Street location features:
- Three dedicated consultation rooms to reduce wait times and increase access to specialists.
- Two echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) rooms, featuring a new echo machine equipped with the most advanced cardiac imaging features available.
- A dedicated stress testing suite, designed to enhance the patient experience with integrated music and television during exercise testing.
- A specialised procedure room, allowing selected investigations and treatments to be performed safely on site.
- State-of-the-art examination and powered patient beds, ensuring comfortable positioning and improved accessibility for patients with limited mobility.

“We are building a model for high-quality care,” said A/Prof Ford. “We have never aimed to be the largest or the cheapest provider. Our focus has always been on delivering careful, experienced, consultant-led cardiac care. That means time with patients, advanced imaging, and sustained investment in the right equipment and people.”
Central Heart’s model is deliberate. It’s built around thorough assessment, clear communication, and evidence-based decision-making in a purpose-designed facility beside Gosford Private Hospital.
“We take a long-term view,” he said. “Our investment in the Central Coast reflects our commitment to being here for decades, supporting the heart health of our community over the long term. High-quality care requires investment, and patients are often reassured to know that their assessment is not rushed and that their care is delivered to the highest standard. In healthcare, as in most professional services, value is defined by quality, experience, and outcomes.”
While Central Heart is built for the Central Coast, we continue to see patients travelling from Sydney and Newcastle—suggesting that a thoughtful, high-quality, boutique approach to cardiac care resonates with patients who are willing to invest in, and travel for, that standard.
A global perspective on local care
The move comes at an exciting time for Central Heart. A/Prof Ford recently returned from Hawaii, where he was invited to present his expertise on left main stenting at The Advanced Revascularization (ARCH) Symposium. While these global opportunities add a level of prestige to the work being done here on the Central Coast, A/Prof Ford’s focus remains firmly on bringing that world-class knowledge back to his local patients.
