The Central Heart team is excited to share some major updates regarding our team’s expansion and improvements to our cardiac services. With new facilities, additional specialists, and enhanced diagnostic capabilities, we’re raising the bar for cardiovascular care in the Central Coast region.
New and upgraded facilities

We’re proud to introduce our latest diagnostic facilities located in Toukley and North Gosford. These centres are fully equipped with the latest technology, allowing us to provide a convenient and comprehensive range of cardiac diagnostic services to patients close to home. Our cardiologists conduct and report on a range of tests, including echocardiograms, stress testing, and Holter monitoring (a small, wearable device that records the heart’s rhythm).
Welcoming Dr. Adam Bland and our cardiologist team to Central Heart
As Central Heart continues to provide high-quality cardiovascular care to the Central Coast community, we are delighted to introduce Dr. Adam Bland as a valued partner in our mission. Dr. Bland is a long-term colleague and trusted friend, deeply committed to patient care and dedicated to improving the heart health of our local population. His expertise, particularly in preventive cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging, strengthens our ability to meet the diverse needs of our patients.
Dr. Lynn Khor and Dr. Kunwar Bhatia are two highly skilled cardiologists and valued colleagues supporting our practice. Both bring cutting-edge imaging expertise and advanced patient assessment, honed through Sydney training. Given A/Prof Ford’s sub-specialised focus on cardiac procedures, this approach allows us to provide more timely care tailored to each patient’s specific needs. By working with a team of trusted cardiologists who specialise in diagnostic and outpatient care, we can often reduce wait times and ensure that patients receive focused, expert attention—whether for ongoing management or specific evaluations.
Together, our team is committed to delivering exceptional care, ensuring that the Central Coast community has access to the best possible cardiovascular services in a timely fashion.
Introducing Dr. Adam Bland, an expert in preventive and diagnostic cardiology
Dr. Adam Bland is an imaging cardiologist who completed an advanced fellowship in cardiac imaging at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, with training across the Central Coast, as well as the Northern and Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Recognised for his natural communication skills and ability to connect with patients, Dr. Bland specialises in preventive and diagnostic cardiology with subspecialist expertise in cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, echocardiography and the early diagnosis of coronary artery disease.
He shares Central Heart’s vision of delivering high-quality, leading cardiac care, and is dedicated to making a meaningful, long-term impact on the heart health of the Central Coast community, where he is deeply invested both professionally and personally.
Outside of work, Dr. Bland, who is originally from regional NSW, is a golf and sports enthusiast and enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife Lani and son Ollie.
Introducing Dr. Lynn Khor, a passionate specialist in women’s heart health
Dr. Lynn Khor is an experienced and compassionate cardiologist who specialises in advanced heart imaging and treating complex heart conditions. After completing her subspecialty training in valvular heart disease at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Dr. Khor has focused much of her career on understanding and treating heart conditions that affect women, particularly Ischaemia with No Obstructive Coronary Arteries (INOCA).
This condition, which causes chest pain without the typical blockages in the heart’s arteries, can be challenging to diagnose and manage.
Dr. Khor’s expertise and passion for women’s heart health ensure her patients receive the best care possible.
Introducing Dr. Kunwar Bhatia, a leader in preventive cardiology and heart failure
Dr. Kunwar Bhatia trained at Royal North Shore Hospital and specialises in coronary artery disease, heart failure, and preventive cardiology. Dr. Bhatia has conducted significant research on the relationship between COVID-19 and heart disease, which has become an increasingly important area of study in recent years.
At Central Heart, Dr. Bhatia has worked closely with our team including A/Prof Ford on the Central Coast for almost two years.
Our aim remains to provide collaborative diagnostic and interventional care, ensuring that all patients benefit from a cohesive, team-based approach.
Urgent consultation slots

We understand that when it comes to heart health, time is of the essence. Whilst our typical waiting list can be 3-4 months, we have set aside urgent slots for emergency outpatient reviews, with appointments available within 1-2 weeks for those in need of expedited care.
We can also streamline access to advanced cardiac imaging such as Cardiac CT, ensuring that patients requiring more detailed investigations can receive them promptly. By offering all of these services locally, we are minimising wait times and ensuring that patients receive the care they need without unnecessary delays.
High-quality care, close to home

At Central Heart, we remain committed to providing high-quality, locally-based diagnostic cardiology services that contribute to the well-being of our community.
We are grateful for the ongoing support of our patients and referring GPs. By choosing Central Heart, you’re helping us to deliver excellent outcomes for every patient who walks through our doors.
