Dr. Adam Bland

BAppSc (Physiotherapy), MBBS, MMed, MClinUS (Echocardiography)

Dr. Adam Bland is an Imaging Cardiologist, known for his kind, attentive approach and natural ability to connect with patients. Dr. Bland’s path into medicine began with a former career in physiotherapy, where his passion for diagnostics and problem-solving led him to pursue a broader role in healthcare.

Dr. Bland completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) at the University of Sydney, followed by his medical degree at the University of Wollongong. During his medical studies, he was awarded the University Medal for outstanding academic achievement. He went on to complete a Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) at the University of Sydney and a Master of Clinical Ultrasound (Echocardiography) at the University of Melbourne.

His subspecialty interest lies in cardiac imaging and diagnostics, with a focus on preventative cardiology. This includes the early detection of coronary artery disease, helping patients understand their risk factors, and guiding them through sustainable lifestyle changes. Dr. Bland finds great satisfaction in interpreting advanced cardiac imaging, such as echocardiograms, CT scans, and MRIs, to identify causes of symptoms and deliver tailored treatment plans.

Preventative cardiology is a core part of his practice. He believes in taking time to understand each patient’s goals, whether it’s staying active, spending time with family, or simply improving their quality of life. His communication style is warm, respectful, and patient-focused, shaped in part by his own experiences growing up in a regional town where access to healthcare was limited.

Dr. Bland joined the Central Heart team after working alongside Associate Professor Tom Ford during advanced cardiology training. Their shared dedication to evidence-based care, education, and collaborative teamwork inspired him to become part of the practice. He values Central Heart’s strong community focus and its mission to deliver exceptional cardiac care to the Central Coast.

Outside of work, Dr. Bland treasures time with his wife and young son. He’s passionate about sport, especially golf, and enjoys music as a creative outlet, continuing to play guitar as he did growing up.

“What I love most is the satisfaction of helping patients manage their health. I find it rewarding to provide comfort through clear communication, education, and effective treatment.”
